Evolving Spirituality Group
This experiential discussion group grapples with ideas about faith and spirituality from an evolutionary Christian perspective. We follow a transformational learning style, including:
• readings and audio and video clips from diverse sources
• rituals, liturgy and singing
• discussion in pairs
• reflective writing
Most recently, we have been learning meaningful ways to discover the sacred in the small things we do and see, drawing on the insights of Barbara Brown Taylor in An Altar in the World.
In previous series we have studied Val Webb’s Stepping Out with the Sacred, Experiencing Ecological Christianity by Tim Scorer and Bruce Sanguin, Karen Armstrong’s Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life and Willigis Jager's Mysticism for Modern Times.

There are two men's groups linked with Habitat Uniting Church. These are intentional groups of men who want to learn what it is to listen to each other deeply and discover what it is to know other men, their paths and the things that are important to us.
Originally based upon some of the men's groups theories of Richard Rohr, the group meets monthly for conversation around a pre-set topic. The group functions as a collective, with leadership held my all participants. Each decade in a man's life is represented in the members of this group; from men parenting and career building in their 30's to men retired in their 70's.
We are available to assist other men to start similar groups.
Contact Habitat Office for further information.
The Gift of Years
A small group of older women meet monthly to discuss topics of interest. The group welcome the opportunity to connect with other women within the safety of a small group.
The session begins with a time for “checking in” with one another. Those who would like to take it in turns to choose the theme for the session, and facilitate the conversation.
