Massaging Himmler: A Poetic biography of Dr Felix Kersten by Anne M Carson
Read by Julian Bailey & Anne M Carson
Rachmaninov 10 Preludes Opus 23 Recorded Soundtrack by Julian Bailey

Masseur to Reichsführer Heinrich Himmler (head of the SS & Gestapo), Dr Felix Kersten used his influence to secure the release of tens, possibly hundreds of thousands of prisoners. Accused of collaboration after the war, his name was cleared & he received high honours from several European countries.

The Preludes mirror the mythic quality of the Dr Kersten / Himmler story – both are hero’s journeys through struggle and conflict into light. Often darkly passionate, the music is threaded through and finishes with passages of sublime transcendence.

The biography has been endorsed by the Lamn Jewish Library, Melbourne
